CHALLENGE

IN-HOUSE LIMITS REACHED 

Over the years, Nubert's self-developed online store increasingly led to a dead end. The integration of connections and plugins increasingly became an obstacle. Seamlessly linking online and offline experiences for a consistent omnichannel experience was not possible. Manual maintenance and dependence on a single programmer slowed down development considerably. Particularly problematic was the dwindling visibility on Google, which led to a drop in sales.

COMPLEX PRODUCT PRESENTATION

Another problem was to adequately present the complex technical features and high-quality workmanship of the hi-fi products online. Customers could not physically experience the products. Traditional image galleries and text descriptions were not sufficient to fully convey the high-quality features of the products, which required explanation. Customers often found a long picture gallery to click through cumbersome and not very user-friendly. Nubert wanted to offer more in the premium segment and create a unique experience.

MIGRATION TO SHOPWARE 6

Based on Nubert's business requirements, Shopware 6 was evaluated and selected as a suitable shop system. The migration to the comprehensive and future-proof e-commerce system Shopware 6 was the first step. A state-of-the-art D2C online store presents the Nubert brand in a modern way and in line with its corporate identity. Existing systems such as ERP and sales channels were seamlessly connected. Data is maintained and controlled centrally, and the automation of data distribution from the ERP system to connected marketplaces was also implemented. The newly revised product detail pages can now be individually designed by Nubert for each individual item in the backend. The Nubert online shop comprises a total of 600 products plus variants. We integrated the existing ERP system with the Shopware 6 API for perfect display in the front end, so that product and customer data as well as stock displays can be easily displayed in the store. 

Usability has also been significantly improved: the new one-page checkout offers a clear and helpful display. It goes without saying that we use responsive design for the state-of-the-art D2C online store, so that the user experience is optimal on all devices.

Thanks to the flexible options offered by Shopware 6, warranty extensions, instalment payments and information on disposal can be seamlessly integrated as a product bundle. Nubert uses the various plugins from the Shopware Store: the instalment payment option was efficiently integrated via the PolPaymentPayolutionSW6 plugin and the product bundle functionality with the DvsnSetConfigurator. This integration enables a smooth expansion of the range and at the same time optimises the quality of service for customers. Excellent customer service is present at the right points in the customer journey. The branch appointment booking in the online shop offers a successful link between online and offline, allowing customers to select the consultation of their choice within the customer journey. This creates a successful omnichannel shopping experience. 15 plug-ins/extensions were integrated for the perfect display of all features.

PRODUCT PRESENTATION IN 3D & AR

The integration of rooom, the enterprise metaverse solution for digital experiences, took place within 6 weeks and enables the products to be displayed in 3D and AR. Soundbars and hi-fi products are displayed in 3D, while floor-standing speakers can be brought directly into the customer's living room using AR. Customers can view the products from all angles and get a realistic idea of the design and details without losing focus on the purchase. This allows customers to view the details that are important to them in a matter of seconds, regardless of what they are most interested in. They benefit from experiencing the products up close and getting a realistic idea of the design and quality. Even if it sounds like a small feature, it actually has a huge impact on the customer experience. With these immersive product presentations, Nubert offers its customers an unparalleled experience that accelerates purchasing decisions and increases customer satisfaction.

CONSULTING & TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION

Our UX experts developed the design for the 3D representations and provided advice on how to create the best possible 3D data. The technical process of integrating rooom into Shopware 6 was lean and efficient. An MVP was created in a very short space of time, mapping many functions. Custom functions such as direct switching between colour variants and the fading in and out of individual apertures have been developed to improve the user experience. Thanks to the customised development, all of the customer's individual requirements could be optimally mapped. For example, a customised user-defined field in the Shopware backend allows Nubert to integrate 3D objects independently and retain full control.

CURRENT STATE & FUTURE OUTLOOK

Nubert's Shopware 6 online shop is gradually being rolled out internationally. Further sales channels are currently being set up in other European countries. The French sales channel at nubert.com/fr is already successfully live. Shopware 6 offers the ideal features for this: Thanks to ‘multiple storefronts’, several storefronts for different countries and markets can be managed centrally. This flexible architecture makes it possible to operate shops in different languages and currencies smoothly, thus significantly simplifying market entry into new regions.

The integrated AI features, such as personalised product recommendations and automated translations, ensure a customised customer experience that is precisely tailored to the needs of international target groups. Shopware 6 therefore not only offers a powerful technical solution, but also creates a scalable e-commerce ecosystem that is perfectly geared towards global growth.

For Nubert, visual experiences are definitely the future of product presentation in e-commerce. They arouse enthusiasm and easily fulfil the need for information. We are in the process of transferring more products to the 3D and AR view and expanding annotations. A process has been set up for this so that the appropriate 3D data is directly available for new products and can be entered into the Shopware backend via rooom.
