OWN MARKETPLACE SOLUTION FOR MEMBERS

EURONICS - a retail group with over 1,200 members at around 1,294 locations throughout Germany. Always close to the customer, with personalized advice and the best service. 

Too many own online presences and different online shops of individual members dilute the image of EURONICS. The head office of EURONICS Deutschland eG would like to offer its members a future-proof "state of the art" solution that takes into account the complex structure of the buying group and generates value-adding benefits for the members (= retailers).

OUR TASK

To ensure its competitiveness EURONICS needed a digital solution for linking all relevant sales channels (cross-channel retail) with a focus on "drive-to-retail". The concept was to take into account the special features of the cooperating organizational form "cooperative". These include the independence and the right of the individual retailers to have a say, as well as the decentralized and stationary nature of the organization. In addition, the retail and service portfolio of the specialist retailers has a very strong local or regional focus, so that there are no direct geographical competitive conflicts.

THE IDEA

A Shopware Enterprise marketplace is to be developed for the EURONICS headquarters, through which the specialist retailers can sell items from their own range at their own prices at euronics.de. The digital sales platform strengthens the retailers' bricks-and-mortar, local speciality shops through many "drive-to-retail" measures and services. The large, so-called XXL retailers benefit from individual subshops of the Shopware Enterprise solution. Each participating retailer is connected to the marketplace with its own merchandize management system in order to be able to display individual prices and stocks. Customers who visit the Shopware Enterprise marketplace are localized using GEO targeting based on FACT-Finder and assigned to local retailers within a defined area. In line with the co-operative concept, customers receive regional offers that are offered for delivery and collection ("drive-to-retail").

Over 900 participating retailers were connected using the EURONICS Online Manager developed in-house. This acts as a retailer backend and is based on the PHP framework Symfony. The USP for the retailers is that the retailer backend provides them with a tool with which they can maintain their master data independently and individually. From the maintenance of services to shipping costs and images, as well as banners, retailers have complete freedom in terms of design. They can also view their orders and returns and define shipping costs.
Customers receive the individual retailer data centrally on the marketplace, but also in the XXL retailer subshops and via the retailer page, which serves as a digital business card in accordance with "drive-to-retail". Customers can access the retailer page via the retailer search, for example. The appropriate local retailer can be selected via a list and map view to obtain further information about the specialized shop.

The JAVA-based data processing technology Talend ensures a high-performance marketplace. The middleware ensures that data from various databases can be exported, prepared, processed and integrated, e.g. from the FACT-Finder search engine, which provides a personalized shopping experience. sorgt.
