CUSTOMER-CENTRIC WITH REGIONALLY FOCUSSED DIGITAL SERVICES

Globus hypermarket - the company from the retail sector is a chain that operates 47 department stores all over Germany. Globus department store offers a wide range of products and is known for offering high-quality products and a wide selection of brands for both price-conscious and discerning customers. The department stores are characterized by a modern and appealing shop design that offers a pleasant shopping experience. To fulfill the needs of customers, the retailer relies on a sustainable concept that combines offline and online. With a focus on end customers, Globus is aligning its digital strategy to be customer-orientated, regionally focused and with digital services.

OUR TASK

Globus already offers its end customers the "My Globus customer card" in bricks-and-mortar department stores. 
The digital product catalog concept is to be implemented so that the benefits of this customer card can also be used digitally. This solution is intended to optimize digital support for additional services and provide more detailed information. Globus was looking for an agency that could seamlessly integrate a product catalog and the associated services based on Shopware into the usability of the website.

THE IDEA

In order to offer a central digital product catalog across all locations, a uniform and supportive UX design and the customer journey should be recreated for users. Customers should be able to assign shops to themselves or via geolocation and see the individual stocks and prices of each shop online in the Shopware product catalog. Local content, such as weekly specials, is also displayed. Users visiting the Globus website are asked to select their nearest store or location from the very first moment. In this way, users find out very early on the home page of the product catalog whether their desired products are available in the respective shop and what price they are.

By logging in to the product catalog with their "My Globus customer card", customers will be able to add products to a shopping list that is individually linked to their customer account. As a further service, pre-orders for gift baskets and platters (e.g. sausage, cheese, meat or fish) will be carried out digitally. The product catalog and pre-orders will be seamlessly integrated into the overall Globus service world.

THE IMPLEMENTATION

THE RESULT

We implemented this project together with Globus in a very short space of time. Our expertise and knowledge of the possibilities of the REST APIs of Shopware and Pimcore, together with the Globus team, made the success of the new digital services possible. 

Globus and we are on the way to designing and developing further customer-centred digital services. We look forward to implementing further digital projects in this exciting environment that will improve the cross-channel shopping experience.
