dataTec AG, founded in 1985, is the leading specialist distributor for measurement and testing technology in Germany. Since 2018, dataTec has been pursuing the European expansion of its sales activities and is currently active in Spain, Switzerland, Austria and the Nordic countries of Sweden, Estonia and Finland. The broad product portfolio comprises over 50 manufacturers and includes power supply units, oscilloscopes, modular measurement technology, test systems, test equipment and thermal imaging cameras. With more than 140 employees, the Swabian family-owned company consults customers from a wide range of industries and sectors - ranging from industrial companies to public authorities and educational institutions - from its headquarters in Reutlingen.

OUR TASK

dataTec is dedicated to progress and therefore entrusted us with the challenge of setting up and developing their B2B online presence for the DACH region in a future-proof manner. We had to ensure the smooth integration of their established systems such as PIM, ERP and CRM.

THE IDEA

The idea was to develop a future-fit B2B platform that utilizes the strengths of Shopware 6 and is tailored to the needs of the target groups. To this end, we consistently developed dataTec AG's existing online store to support traditional retail with a sustainable, digital sales channel.

THE RESULT

With the migration to Shopware 6, dataTec has future-proofed its own online presence. The new platform links dataTec's online and offline activities and is a good example of how a first-class customer experience can be created in the B2B sector with complex products. For us, the real highlight of this project is the satisfaction of our customer. It is important to us that the online store meets our customer's expectations and fulfills their needs.
