To ensure competitiveness, EURONICS needed a digital solution for linking all relevant sales channels (cross-channel retail) with a focus on “drive-to-retail”. The concept should take into account the special features of the cooperating form of organisation “cooperative”. This includes, among other things, the independence and the right of individual retailers to have a say, as well as the decentralized and stationary organization. In addition, the retailers’ trading and service portfolios have a very strong local or regional focus, so that there are no direct geographic conflicts of competition.
The complex association group structure is to be transformed into a future-proof “state of the art” solution from which the dealers can generate value-added benefits.
NETFORMIC has developed a Shopware Enterprise Marketplace for the EURONICS headquarter, which allows retailers to sell articles from their own assortment at their own prices under euronics.de. The digital sales platform strengthens the stationary, local specialist business of the retailers through many “drive-to-retail” measures and services. The large, so-called XXL retailers, benefit from individual subshops of the Shopware Enterprise solution. Each participating merchant is connected to the marketplace with its own merchandise management system in order to be able to display individual prices and inventories. Customers visiting the Shopware Enterprise Marketplace are localised via FACT-Finder based GEO-Targeting and assigned to the merchants located there within a defined radius. In line with the cooperative concept, customers are thus offered regional products for delivery and collection (“drive-to-retail”).
The connection of more than 900 participating retailers is done with the self-developed EURONICS Online-Manager. This acts as a merchant backend and is based on the PHP framework Symfony. The USP for merchants is that the merchant backend provides them with a tool with which they can maintain their master data independently and individually. From the maintenance of the services to the shipping costs and images, as well as banners, the dealers have free design freedom. You can also view your orders and returns and define shipping costs.
Customers receive the individual retailer data on the one hand centrally on the marketplace, but also in the XXL retailer sub-shops and via the retailer page, which serves as a digital business card, according to “Drive-to-Retail”. Customers can access the dealer page via the dealer search, for example. Via a list and map view, the appropriate local dealer can be selected to obtain further information about the specialist shop.
To offer customers a limitless shopping experience on the Shopware Enterprise Marketplace, you can create a mixed shopping cart, with products from different merchants. Customers benefit from order splitting, via the brickfox technology, from a huge assortment selection from the electronics segment. In combination with the EURONICS service world, suitable services, such as the connection of household appliances, can also be booked.
The JAVA-based data processing technology Talend ensures a high-performance marketplace. The middleware ensures that data from a wide variety of databases can be exported, prepared, processed and integrated, e.g. from the Searchengine FACT-Finder, which provides a personalized shopping experience.
Together with EURONICS, NETFORMIC has written a success story as a Shopware Enterprise Agency – the marketplace has been awarded several times with the following awards: INTERNET WORLD Business Shop Award 2016, Shop Usability Award 2017, Top Supplier Retail 2017.
